The Recommendation Committee of the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has invited applications for the post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
A notice was published on Monday announcing an open competition for the position. Interested candidates who meet the eligibility criteria must submit their applications to the Financial Sector Management and Institutional Coordination Division of the Ministry of Finance within seven days, by March 2. Along with the application, a business plan is also required.
To be eligible, applicants must have at least a master’s degree in economics, commerce, finance, management information technology, law, or a related field, or be a chartered accountant or hold an equivalent degree. Additionally, candidates must have at least 15 years of work experience, including a minimum of seven years in a senior managerial role in the capital market, financial sector, or management-related work.
The application fee has been set at Rs 7,500. Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel formed a three-member committee on Sunday to oversee the CEO appointment process. The committee is coordinated by Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Sebantak Pokharel, with Joint Secretary Amrit Lamsal and Dr. Khom Raj Kharel as members.
The final appointment will be made by the Council of Ministers based on the committee’s recommendation. The CEO position at NEPSE has been vacant since February 6, following the completion of former CEO Krishna Prasad Karki’s term.
