Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday escalated 36.86 points to close at 1,985.44 points.

The secondary market opened at 1,948.57 points and nosedived to the day’s low at 1,942.94 points in the first 10 minutes of trading. The market, however, revived to hit as high as 1,990.39 points in the last 40 minutes, while the market shed around five points in the remaining trading time.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies also added 4.94 points. The daily turnover amount was marginally down to Rs 4.309 billion from Rs 4.842 billion on Monday. 

All 13 groups were gainers in the intraday trading on Tuesday. Life insurance surged 333.36 points, the largest of all. It was followed by non-life insurance, hotels and tourism, and manufacturing and processing, which were posted as gainers of three-digit points.  

Among individual companies, 214 were recorded gainers whereas 24 companies were the losers.

Shivam Cements, having trade of its shares worth Rs 180.71 million, topped in the transaction volume. Bottlers Nepal (Balaju) Limited was recorded on top of the gainers’ lists while CYC Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost the highest of 5.11 percent of its market value.
