Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday escalated 58.55 points to close at 2,111.21 points.
The market opened at 2,052.65 points and rose to 2,081.62 points in the first few minutes. The index however fell to 2,064.29 as of the midway of the trading hours. The market went into an upward graph in the remaining period.
The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies increased by a notable 10.60 points. The daily turnover inclined to Rs 4.55 billion from Rs 2.92 billion on Sunday.
All the 13 trading groups succeeded in adding to their market values. Life insurance gained the highest of 567.68 points, while non-life insurance, hotels and tourism, microfinance, and manufacturing and processing also posted gains of three-digit points.
Among individual companies, 220 were recorded as gainers whereas 22 were the losers.
Shivam Cements Ltd with a total transaction of it shares worth Rs 371.93 million led the segment of highest turnover. Janautthan Samudayic Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited was the top gainer, while Himalayan 80-20 shed the highest of 2.57 percent of its market price.
