NMB Bank becomes lead financier of Madame Khola Hydropower Project

Kathmandu, August 5 : NMB Bank Limited has said that it has become the lead financier of Madame Khola Hydropower Project. NIC Asia Bank Limited, Prabhu Bank Limited and Employees Provident Fund are the other lending institutions in the consortium.

The 24 MW project, being developed by Madame Khola Hydropower Pvt. Ltd., is located at Madi Rural Municipality, Kaski.

The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has already facilitated for the construction of the project by signing Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the company two years back. The total project cost stands at NPR 4.48 billion, out of which NPR 3.325 billion has been managed by the Consortium Debt.

With the latest addition., the bank has now a total number of projects in its hydro portfolio.
