Non-life insurance companies in Nepal collected premiums totaling Rs 36.58 billion during the first nine months of the current fiscal year.
According to the Nepal Insurance Authority (NIA), 14 non-life insurers generated this amount by issuing more than 2.2 million insurance policies during the review period. In the last month alone, insurers sold 347,872 policies, earning Rs 5.04 billion in premiums.
Among individual companies, Shikhar Insurance topped the list, selling 238,667 policies and earning Rs 4.80 billion. Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance followed in second place, collecting Rs 3.83 billion in premiums from 201,838 policies.
