The central bank (NRB) has prepared the draft of monetary policy and is waiting for the decision of the board of directors to make it public.

According to NRB, the monetary policy draft for the current financial year has been prepared and background writing is underway. Now there is a plan to arrange a meeting according to the time of the board of directors and if the board of directors passes it, it will be announced on Friday.

The central bank is preparing to make it public on Friday. However, the date will be determined after the Board of Directors approves it.

An official of NRB said that the Drafting Committee of NRB has completed the drafting work. The necessary revisions to the background can now be done. Then it will be made public”, he said.

Nepal Rastra Bank cannot impose a complete ban on import of goods, but a monetary policy to stop credit for import of goods has been indicated by the governor official.

On the other hand, the leaders of the ruling party themselves have been saying that the monetary policy should not be tightened. But the central bank has indicated that the interest rate should be increased to control the current inflation.
