The government has revoked the licenses of two internet service providers (ISPs). The Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) canceled the licenses of C Data Communication in Birgunj and Life Net in Surkhet.
C Data Communication’s license was revoked for failing to operate services in accordance with the terms, effective October 18. The company had been granted its internet service operating license on February 2, 2020.
Life Net’s license was revoked for not initiating any renewal process. Although its license, issued on September 16, 2019, was valid until September 14, 2024, the NTA took action because the company did not submit a renewal application.
The NTA has also instructed the company to make the required payments within the next 30 days in accordance with regulations.
