Kathmandu, April 21 : One more case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in Udayapur district after the test conducted on a 33-year-old man there resulted positive. In a press meet here Tuesday, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population Dr Bikash Devkota confirmed that the man was tested positive for the infection. His nasal and throat swab was collected and sent to the National Public Health Laboratory in Kathmandu.
So far,a total of 32 such cases have been recorded in the country. Among them four have already returned their homes with cure, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. The Ministry said that a team dispatched from Kathmandu was conducting contact tracing of the infected person in Udayapur to find out those possibly contracting this flu-like infection.
The COVID-19 test is being conducted on 221 suspected ones in Birgunj and 320 in Udayapur, according to the Ministry. Altogether 36,719 persons have undergone the COVID-19 tests while 107 suspected ones were in the isolation currently. Similarly, a total of 2,185 queries were answered by the call centre set up for COVID-19 related complaints. RSS
