Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati has introduced a 10-point action plan ranging from making diplomatic efforts to operate the Gautam Buddha International Airport in full-fledged manner to taking forward the Civil Aviation Bill.

In a press meet organized at his office in Singhadurbar on Monday, Minister Kirati made public his action plans including government efforts to operate GBIA. Minister Kiranti also presented the details of his undertakings and five-point reforms made in the past 42 days since he assumed his office.

Minister Kiranti shared that preparations were afoot to establish the Pashupati University, launch three-month long Pashupati Cleanup Campaign and form a permanent unit in the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal to receive complaints on gender-based violence, among others.

Furthermore, an investigation committee would be formed to look into the grounded aircrafts and directives would be given to institutionalize cleaning drives in the heritage sites, he said.

Minister Kiranti informed that the Bharatpur Airport would be expanded.

He said he introduced an online ticket system for the Nepal Airlines Corporation and made sure that there were managerial reforms and sanitation drives as well as tangible progress in aviation security after assuming office 42 days ago. He also said that Lumbini Master Plan and internet access in departmental areas among others.
