A total of 612 mountaineers from 68 groups have obtained mountain climbing permits for the spring climbing season so far.
Of the permit recipients, 478 are male and 134 are female.
Mt Everest is the top choice for climbers, with 274 permits given out this year, a slight decrease from last year.
Other high mountains like Ama Dablam, Makalu I, Lhotse, and Annapurna I also have many climbers with climbing permits.
The DoT has collected royalties worth Rs 437.875 million solely from climbing permits this season alone.
