Butwal, March 22: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli observed the under-construction Gautam Buddha International Airport at Bhairahawa of Rupandehi today and acquired information on its progress.
PM Oli, who arrived in Bhairahawa this morning, said the progress of work of the airport was satisfactory so far and issued directives to further expedite the construction works so as to bring the airport into operation sooner.
Minister of State for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Dhan Bahadur Budha, director general of the Civil Aviation Authority Nepal (CAAN), Sanjeev Gautam, among other officials, made an on-site observation of the airport.
Project chief, Er Prabesh Adhikari on the occasion presented a progress report of the airport. According to him, 80 percent of the works of the airport has been completed to date.
After this, PM Oli will inaugurate the state-level medical college at Tillottama municipality-1 and the road expansion project for upgrading the Butwal-Narayangadh road section into a six-lane road.
