Kathmandu, July 31-Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has strictly directed the secretaries to execute their duties in a way that does not trigger the problem of arrears in the country.
During a meeting on the auditing of 2017/18 held today in the capital, he came with such instructions while expressing his worries over this increasing economic malaise. ‘Making arrears knowingly is like committing corruption. So, those involved in creating this problem deserve necessary legal actions,” he added.
In the last fiscal, the country’s economy suffered arrears amounting to as much as Rs 48 billion.
Stating that the political leadership of the country should also display financial discipline, the PM also committed that his government will spare any state intuition involved in economic irregularities.
During the meeting, the Office of Auditor General also presented its working plan to accomplish the task of auditing by the end of the month of Magh.
