In celebration of World Tourism Day, a mini street festival will take place at Lakeside, the main tourist hub of Pokhara. Organized by the Restaurant and Bar Association Nepal (REBAN), known for its annual New Year street festival, this event aims to promote tourism in the region.
Scheduled for Friday evening, the one-day festival will stretch along the banks of Fewa Lake, from Ambot to Barahichowk.
Festival coordinator Birendra Sherchan expressed optimism that the theme, “Eat on the road, have fun on the road,” will significantly enhance tourism awareness. He emphasized the goal of showcasing Tourism Day in a unique and grand manner, reflective of Pokhara’s status as a tourism capital.
REBAN President Bishwaraj Paudel noted that attendees can look forward to a rich variety of domestic and international cuisines, traditional cultural performances, ethnic costumes, and displays of popular tourist attractions. He added that the festival’s timing, during the peak tourist season, will provide a warm welcome to visitors and greatly contribute to promoting tourism on this important day.
