Kathmandu, October 13: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said the country could be made prosperous through cooperatives.
Releasing a book ‘Imanko Indreni’ at his residence Baluwatar today, PM Oli said the government has forwarded the concept of three-pillar economy incorporating the public, private and cooperatives sectors.
The book is written on the life of Keshav Badal, Chairman of the National Cooperatives Federation.
The cooperatives has significant role to ensure economic prosperity with the utilization of small capital, the PM said, adding that even the modernization of agriculture need cooperatives.
Praising Badal, PM Oli said, “Badal is the pandit of cooperatives. He has played significant role in cooperative movement. He has good experience, which needs to be nationalized.”
Commenting about the book, Foreign Minister Pradip Gyawali said at a time when political honesty has waned in the country, the book ‘Imanko Indreni’ has brought to fore the man of honesty.
The book is written by Anil Poudel.
Meanwhile, founder of Nepal Cooperatives Journalists’ Society, Yadav Humagain, has been conferred on this year’s Keshav Badal Cooperatives Journalism Award.
The amount for the award is ensured with the fund of Rs 100,000 set up by Om Devi Malla, Proprietor of International Cooperatives Federation. RSS
