Smartphone imports in Nepal have increased significantly during the first five months of the current fiscal year, according to the Department of Customs.
Nepal imported 1,070,680 smartphones worth Rs 1.913 billion during this period. Of this, imports worth Rs 1.615 billion for 943,826 units were recorded in the first four months, while December alone added smartphones worth around Rs 300 million.
In comparison, by the end of December last fiscal year, Nepal had imported 990,754 smartphones worth Rs 1.518 billion. The figures show a consistent rise in both the number and value of smartphone imports.
