South Korea’s Employment Permit System (EPS) on Monday began accepting applications for the first phase of the Korean Language Proficiency Test for 2025.
This phase aims to recruit 5,300 Nepali migrant workers—3,500 for the manufacturing sector and 1,800 for livestock farming. According to the EPS section of Nepal’s Department of Foreign Employment, applications will remain open until August 16, and each applicant may apply for only one sector.
In FY 2024/25, a total of 14,224 Nepalis obtained labor permits to work in South Korea. Government statistics show that over 110,000 Nepalis have migrated to the country for employment to date, with around 50,000 currently working there.
