June 3 : Preparations are being made to provide employment opportunities to the those people of State No. 2 returning back home after losing jobs in foreign countries due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Chief minister Lalbabu Raut disclosed this information in a virtual discussion organised by the Labour and Employment Journalists’ Group on Tuesday (June 2).
“The unskilled returnees will be trained for certain time period before getting employment. whereas the skilled ones will be provided with jobs immediately,” he said adding that around one million Nepalis are expected to return back to the State-2 alone from abroad .
Plans are said to be made to employ these people in agriculture and other productive sectors According to him, around 500 thousand youths from State-2 are in India and 800 thousand in other third countries including the Gulf countries and Malaysia.
