Annapurna circuit received near 16k tourists

A total of 15,900 foreign tourists enjoyed trekking in the Annapurna circuit in the year 2022. This included 10,364 men and 5,536 women.

According to the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) Tourist Checkpoint at Dharapani, the highest number of tourists in he circuit was from France (2,012).

Likewise, the number of arrivals in 2022 was 13,627 more than in 2021. In 2021, only 2,273 tourists had come for trekking on one of the famous trekking routes of the country, said tourism assistant of the center Chettra Bahadur Gurung. The number was 1,976 in 2020, 36,647 in 2019, 29,484 in 2018, and 21,068 tourists in 2017.

The entrance to Annapurna circuit is Lamjung in Besisahar Municipality-7. Five districts namely Lamjung, Manang, Kaski, Mustang and Myagdi are connected by this trekking route.
