Kathmandu, December 15 : Himalayan Motorrad, , the official distributor of BMW Motorrad, has unveiled the German-made BMW bikes BMW G 310 GS and BMW G 310 R in the Nepali market.
They both come with a reversed cylinder design that slopes towards the rear wheel, instead of the conventional engine layout. “This engine is a 313cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder unit with four valves and a DOHC cylinder head. It delivers 34hp of power and 28Nm of torque on both bikes and is paired to a six-speed gearbox,” says the company source. Both the models also feature tubular steel frames, five-spoke alloy wheels and dual-channel ABS; the GS gets ABS that can be disengaged. The kerb weights for the G 310 R and G 310 GS are 158.5kg and 169.5kg, respectively.
Saurav JB Rana, Chairman of Himalayan Motorrad says, “The 300 to 500cc is a very exciting segment in Nepal. It is a sweet spot for riders as motorcycles in this segment offers great performance at an affordable price.”
