Kathmandu, February 2: Nepali Ambassador to Switzerland Mani Prasad Bhattarai has urged the Swiss citizens and other guests attending the Visit Nepal 2020 promotion event in Switzerland to visit Nepal with their friends and families in 2020. In the program recently organized at an academic and technical institute in Switzerland, Ambassador Bhattarai highlighted various facets of Nepal including the incredible combination of nature, culture, and adventure that Nepal’s tourism sector offers to the visitors around the world all-round the year.

According to a press statement released by the Embassy of Nepal in Switzerland, the program was attended by more than 100 invitees including academicians, Nepal-lovers Swiss nationals, media persons, representatives of Non-Resident Nepali Association and the diaspora among others.

Speaking on the same occasion, Deputy Permanent Representative Tirtha Raj Wagle shed light on the objectives of the event as well as various aspects of Nepal-Swiss relations, the press statement reads.

Similarly, Deputy Head of Division at Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Diepak Elmer, expressed the commitment of SDC to continue supporting Nepal’s development efforts. Nepal-lover Swiss mountaineer Sophie Lavaud, who has already climbed 10 out of 14 mountains of above eight thousand meters including Mt. Everest, shared her unforgettable adventure experiences of climbing mountains in Nepal.

Claudio Peruycchini, nicknamed in Nepali as “Jhilke Dai”(dandy brother) remained another attraction of the event for the enthralled the guests in Nepali songs. During the program, video clips on visit Nepal 2020 were shown, according to the press statement. The participants got to savor Nepali dishes towards the end of the event while the organizer distributed tourism promotion materials to them. The government of Nepal aims to attract as many as 2 million foreign tourists to Nepal in 2020.
