The average wage rate of workers across various sectors in Nepal increased by 2.85 percent over the past year, according to data published by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB).
As per the National Salary and Wage Index, the overall increase was recorded as of mid-January 2025, compared to the same period in 2024. Among the different sectors, workers in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries experienced the highest wage growth at 4.81 percent. In contrast, the construction sector saw the lowest increase, with wages rising by just 1.83 percent.
The data reflects ongoing shifts in sectoral labor demand and highlights disparities in wage growth among different industries.
