Kathmandu, September 11 : New coronavirus cases numbering 1,454- the highest single- day spike so far- have been reported in the past 24 hours. With this, the total number of such cases in the country stands at 51,919.
On Friday, 620 individuals in Kathmandu, 102 in Rupandehi, 74 in Chitwan, 67 in Kailali, 54 in Makwanpur, 47 in Morang, 44 in Sunsari, 42 in Siraha, 38 each in Bhaktapur, Lalitpur and Nawalparasi (East), 35 in Nawalparasi (West), 28 in Kapilvastu, 26 in Surkhet, 20 in Gulmi, 18 in Banke, 14 in Jhapa, 13 in Pyuthan, 12 each in Sankhuwasabha and Palpa, 11 each in Kavre, Kaski and Rukum (East), tested positive for the coronavirus infection.
Five more people died of the such infection today, taking the total number of such fatalities to 322.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the number of total active cases of coronavirus stands at 14,925. Till date 36,672 patients have made successful recovery—972 of them in the past 24 hours.
