Nepal and Mongolia have signed an agreement on collaboration for production and export of wool.
Nepali entrepreneurs and Mongolian officials agreed to exchange knowledge and resources on pashmina wool and its quality control and analyses in Nepal along with production and export.
Nepal Pashmina Industry Association and the Research and Development Institute of Light Industries of Mongolia signed the memorandum of understanding on Wednesday. Bijay Dugad signed from the Nepali side while Turmunkh Tondim from Mongolia.
The agreement will be effective for five years and it could be extended through mutual consensus. It was signed in the presence of Secretary at Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply, Madhu Kumar Marasini, and State Secretary of Mongolian Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, Jambaltseren Tumur-Uya.
The event was held during the ongoing World Export Development Forum, 2023 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
