334 new COVID-19 cases reported, Nepal’s total tally hits 2,634

June 4 : 334 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported today, reflecting the highest single day spike in such cases in the country.

This was revealed at a regular press briefing held by the Ministry of Health and Population.

Among the newly infected patients , 106 were confirmed in the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences, 93 in the Kathmandu-based National Public Health Laboratory, 42 in the Bheri hospital, 18 in  the Dharan based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences and 17 in the Kavre based Dhulikhel Hospital.

Similarly,  Saptari reported 13 new cases, Hetauda-based lab, the Pokhara-based lab and Kapilvastu- based lab each 12, Surkhaet-based lab 8 and Dhanusa-based lab 6.

Likewise, the Koshi-based lab confirmed 5 coronavirus cases, Parbar-based lab 4, Mahottari-based lab 3 and the Sindhuli, Rautahat, Syanja and Sunsari based labs each one.With this, the total number of COVID-19 patients in the country reached 2634.

The deadly disease has spread to 65 districts in the country. As many as 197 cases have been detected in 12 districts of Province 1; 963 cases have been seen in eight districts of Province 2; and 59 cases in 12 districts of Bagmati Province.

Till date, twelve people have been discharged following recovery, which has taken the total recovery cases to 290.

Meanwhile, another COVID-19 fatality has taken place on Thursday, which has taken such death toll to ten.
