Kathmandu, August 21 : Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has directed the remittance service providing companies to facilitate the people to easily withdraw the money sent from foreign countries particularly in the current uneasy situation.
Issuing a press release today, the central bank said that the companies should open their respective counters in the view of the difficulty being faced by the people in receiving remittances sent by their relatives working abroad due to the lockdown. The restrictions have been imposed in various parts of the country including the Kathmandu valley to stem the COVID-19 pandemic since Thursday (August 20).
As per the latest order of the central bank, these companies are required to open their respective counters and provide the remittance-related financial services throughout the lockdown period by following the set safety protocol.
