Kathmandu, April 23 : A total of 634 new cases of coronavirus infection have been reported in the country on Saturday (April 22), the Ministry of Health and Population said. Of them, 216 were reported in the Kathmandu valley alone, including 160 in Kathmandu district, six in Lalitpur district and 50 in Bhaktapur district.
Similarly, 126 people returned home after complete recovery from the virus yesterday, thus taking the total number of recoveries to 18,350. Currently, 135 people are receiving treatment in ICU while 12 are in ventilators for the treatment of coronavirus infection.
Nine more people including a six-year-old girl and a man from Sunsari district died of coronavirus infection yesterday across the country. With this, the total death toll reached 146. Three men in Parsa and one each in Bara, Siraha, Makawanpur and Bhaktapur died of the disease.
So far, Mustang, Myagdi and Humla districts have reported not a single case of the virus, while Morang, Parsa, Mahottari, Rautahat, Sarlahi and Kathmandu each have more than 500 such cases.
