Nepal records 1,201 new COVID-19 cases; total tally hits 53,220

Kathmandu, September 13 : The country recorded 1,201 new cases of coronavirus on Saturday, thus taking the total national tally to 53,220.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the latest cases were found through the conduct of 10,176 sample tests.

852 individuals recovered from the disease yesterday. With this, the total number of recoveries has reached 37,524. This means the recovery rate of the coronavirus is currently 70.6 per cent in Nepal.

Likewise, 14 people succumbed to the virus on Saturday, thus taking the total number of such people to 336.

According to the ministry, a total of 6,153 infected people are in home isolation and 9,107 such others are in institutional isolation facilities. Similarly, the number of the infected living in quarantine facilities is 6,354. It is said that 160 patients are receiving treatment in ICU beds and 24 others are in ventilators across the country.
