Mangalbare, December 1 : Executive Director of National Tea and Coffee Development Board, Dr Bishnu Prasad Bhattarai, has said that trademark logo of Nepali tea has been registered in two countries across the world.
“Such logo was registered in the USA and India after 197 years of tea production in Nepal, he shared while speaking at the first quarterly progress review programme of the National Tea and Coffee Development Board held in the capital on Monday (November 30).
This international recognition is expected to help increase the demand of the Nepali tea brand in the global market.
Bhattarai also informed that 50 per cent grant would be provided to the farmers farming tea in over 50 ropani of land.
He, however, also made it a point to say that there is a high demand of the Nepali coffee as compared to the tea in the global market. Nepal produces six metric tonnes of coffee every year in Nepal against the demand of 19 metric tonnes. RSS
