NEA is going to build the infrastructure of power transmission and distribution lines targeting the industries that are currently operating in Simara, Nijgadh, Birgunj, Parwanipur, Pokhariya, Prasauni and other areas in the Bara-Parsa Industrial Corridor. NEA has given high priority to the expansion and strengthening of infrastructure under short-term and long-term plans to increase consumption by providing reliable and quality electricity to the industries as demanded.

NEA has put forward the concept of constructing 400 KV transmission line through a postal highway for the expansion of power lines in the Terai region. In order to make the power supply of industries in Simara and Birgunj areas reliable, work is underway to add new towers and remove old conductors to increase the capacity of the Hetauda-Parwanipur 66 kV double circuit transmission line. It is said that an additional power supply can be provided to the industry as the capacity of the transmission line will be doubled after the completion of the work.
