The two sides reached an agreement during a discussion held at the corporation’s central office in Teku on Saturday. The Coordinating Committee had submitted a demand to the Corporation on March 7 regarding the Petroleum Sellers Commission and adjustment of LP gas transportation fare.

According to Binit Mani Upadhyaya, spokesperson of the corporation, it was agreed in the discussion on Saturday that the petroleum sellers’ commission and the demand for adjustment of LP gas transportation freight would be addressed within seven days and other petroleum trade-related demands would be finalized by May 29.

Agitating Nepal Petroleum Dealers National Association, Nepal LP Gas Industry Association and Federation of Nepal Petroleum Transport Entrepreneurs have agreed to suspend all protest programs from Saturday and continue the transportation and sale of petro products and LP gas.

The corporation has stated that all the depot offices of the corporation will be operational from 8 am on Sunday to provide petroleum products to the consumers of petroleum products easily and simply.

Home Minister Bal Krishna Khan, who is also the caretaker Prime Minister, had on Saturday instructed the concerned bodies to immediately resolve the problem in the supply of petroleum products.

He directed Supply Secretary Dr Ganesh Prasad Pandey, Acting Director-General of Nepal Oil Corporation Virendra Goit and General Secretary of Nepal Petroleum Dealers Association Bishwa Aryal to resolve the issue immediately.
