After the 132 kV double circuit transmission line came into operation, the corridor evacuated the aforementioned amount of electricity produced by five different hydropower projects.

Ramesh Poudel, chief of the Dordi Corridor Transmission Line Project, said the infrastructure has prevented the produced electricity from going to waste since August 2022. The corridor incorporates four hydropower projects constructed in Dordi Khola and one in Chepe Khola.

The 54 MW Super Dordi ‘B’ project promoted by People’s Hydropower Company, 27 MW Dordi Khola promoted by Himalayan Power Partner, 25 MW Upper Dordi ‘A’ promoted by Liberty Energy Limited and 12.1 MW Dordi-1 promoted by Dordi Khola Jal Bidyut Company are the installed hydropower plants in Dordi Khola. Similarly, the 8.83 MW Chepe Khola Small Hydropower Project has also been supplying its produce to the corridor.

Since last month, the 54 MW Super Dordi ’B’ has come into operation.  Arjun Prasad Gautam, a promoter of the project, said the delay in completion has raised the cost of the project from Rs 8.80 billion to Rs 10.50 billion.

Super Dordi ’B’ started its construction in September of 2015. The project was supposed to complete its construction by 2019.

Similarly, the production of 25 MW Dordi ‘A’ has been connected to the Dordi Corridor after it came into operation just two weeks ago. The hydropower that was supposed to start its production six years ago, witnessed a total investment of Rs 4.64 billion.
