NEPSE Gains Marginally by 9.09 Points, Market Turnover Drops to Rs 7.09 Billion

On Wednesday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) saw a modest increase of 9.09 points, closing at 2,711.75 points. The market opened at 2,702.65 points and initially dipped to a low of 2,684.47 points in the first 20 minutes of trading. However, it recovered over the next few hours, reaching a high of 2,713.91 points before closing slightly higher.

Despite the upward trend in the index, the sensitive index, which tracks the performance of ‘A’ class companies, only saw a minor gain of 0.34 points. The daily turnover dropped significantly to Rs 7.09 billion, down from Rs 10.46 billion the previous day.

In terms of sector performance, 144 companies gained, while 88 companies saw losses. Development banks led the gainers, adding 186.54 points, while non-life insurance companies saw the largest loss, shedding 27.44 points. Ngadi Group Power Ltd had the highest turnover for the day, with a single-day share turnover of Rs 328.19 million.

Among individual stocks, five companies, including Corporate Development Bank, Sindhu Bikash Bank, Nepal Hydro Developers, Saptakoshi Development Bank, and Mahila Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha, saw their market values rise by 10%. On the other hand, Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha was the biggest loser of the day.
