The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) fell by 13.03 points on Sunday, closing at 2,667.40 points.
The market opened at 2,680.44 points and briefly surged to a high of 2,698.77 points within the first six minutes of trading. However, the index dipped by approximately 11 points before stabilizing for the next hour and a half. In the final two minutes of trading, the index hit the day’s low of 2,662.02 points, before recovering slightly by about five points to close the session.
The sensitive index, which tracks the performance of ‘A’ class companies, dropped by 1.76 points. Meanwhile, daily turnover fell to Rs 7.72 billion from Rs 8.25 billion on Thursday.
Out of the 13 sectors, only the manufacturing and processing, and investment groups posted gains. The development bank sector saw the largest decline, shedding 92 points in its index.
Janaki Finance Company Limited led the turnover with shares worth Rs 608.73 million. Century Debenture 2088 recorded the highest loss, dropping 7.75 percent in market value, while Three Star Hydropower Limited gained the most, rising by 9.91 percent.
