The first phase of construction has begun, with work starting on the 200-meter-long approach culvert leading from the dam to the tunnel construction site. According to engineer Bidyut Jung Rawat from the contractor company, the physical structure of the project is now under construction.

The project aims to generate electricity by diverting water through a 4,800-meter-long tunnel to a power house that will be built in Annapurna-2, Naunibagar. The tunnel will be constructed from its inlet at Sukebagar, passing through an audit near Narchiang Bridge, and extending to its outlet at Naunibagar.

The power house, switchboard, and control room of this run-of-the-river hydropower project will be constructed underground. The electricity generated from the central Kaligandaki will be connected to the national grid through a 220 kV substation at Dana, located six kilometers above Naunibagar.

With an estimated cost of Rs 12.93 billion, the project is expected to be completed within the next three years.
