Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced a price hike in petrol, diesel, and aviation fuel, effective from midnight Monday, following an upward revision in import prices by the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC).
New Prices:
- Petrol: Increased by Rs 5 per litre
- Diesel & Kerosene: Increased by Rs 4 per litre
- Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG): No change
The NOC Board of Directors approved the revised rates after the latest price list from IOC showed significant cost increases:
- Petrol: Up by Rs 7.64/litre
- Diesel: Up by Rs 9.13/litre
- Aviation fuel: Up by Rs 6.88/litre
Despite these sharp hikes in procurement costs, NOC stated that it has chosen to implement only a partial adjustment to shield consumers from the full impact of rising international prices.
This move comes amid growing concerns over inflationary pressures on consumers, with fuel being a key driver of transportation and commodity costs across Nepal.
