After setting new record highs for five consecutive days, the price of gold has seen a significant decline today.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of gold fell by Rs 4,200 per tola on Friday, bringing it down to Rs 235,000 per tola. On Thursday, gold had reached Rs 239,200 per tola, marking the highest price ever recorded in Nepal.
Meanwhile, silver prices continued to rise. Silver, which was traded at Rs 3,025 per tola on Thursday, increased by Rs 60 today, reaching Rs 3,085 per tola—the highest price on record for silver as well.
From Sunday to Thursday, gold prices had been increasing continuously. On Thursday, gold rose by Rs 1,200 per tola, while on Wednesday, it had surged by Rs 2,600 per tola. Earlier in the week, the price had increased by Rs 7,000 on Sunday, Rs 2,500 on Monday, and Rs 2,300 on Tuesday.
In the international market, gold is currently trading at USD 3,058 per ounce.
