Nepal imported 10,845 electric vehicles (EVs) worth Rs 25.55 billion during the first 11 months of the current fiscal year, reflecting the country’s growing shift toward electric mobility.
According to the Department of Customs, the imported EVs included various models with motor capacities ranging from 50 kW to 201 kW and above.
Key Import Figures
- Total EV imports: 10,845 units
- Total import value: Rs 25.55 billion
EVs up to 50 kW
- Number imported: 3,680 units
- Import value: Rs 5.65 billion
EVs between 51 kW and 100 kW
- Number imported: 6,357 units
- Import value: Rs 16.497 billion
These two categories alone accounted for the vast majority of electric vehicle imports during the review period, indicating strong consumer demand for small and medium-capacity EVs.
