Bajhang, October 14: Regular air service here in the district has begun here on Tuesday. Such service started after the Bajhang Airport resumed its operations after a gap of more than 10 years.
“The test flight was conducted some days back in the airport after blacktopping its runway,” said Airport chief Mohan Giri adding,” The regular flight from it began on Tuesday, with the Summit Air bringing 18 air passengers to here from Dhangadhi.”
From now onwards, the Summit Air will conduct regular flights twice a week via the airport twice a week, the Summit Air said.
A passenger of this airline company, Prakash Singh, said that he boarded the flight because it would consume much time to come to Bajhang from Dhangadhi by bus. Another passenger Birat Singh Kathayat said although the airfare is a bit high, the dream of Bajhang people to fly has been realized.
