Makwanpur, October 14: All industries at the Hetauda industrial area that were closed for the last six months due to the COVID-19 pandemic have resumed their operations. However, they are yet to operate in a full-fledged fashion, said Hetauda Industrial District Management Office (HIDMO).
There are altogether 111 industries operating at the area and approximately 10,500 people have been employed directly or indirectly by them. “Some entrepreneurs have applied for lands, electricity and water to establish new industries.
Nepal Industrial Development Corporation Ltd has been sent a letter requesting for approval in this regard,” said Rajendra Shrestha, administrative officer at the HIDMO. Established in 1963, the industrial area spanning around 1,885 ropanis of land has an investment of approximately Rs 6.4 billion (around 5.5 billion from the private sector and the remaining from the government).
