Among the local authorities listed includes Kathmandu, Pokhara, Birgunj, Lalitpur, Bharatpur, and Biratnagar metropolitan cities. Similarly, Dharan, Tulsipur sub-metropolitan and other cities and rural municipalities have also not paid their dues. As per the NEA, the total amount of unpaid dues across these local authorities exceeds Rs 6 billion.

Additionally, the NEA has emphasized the requirement for local authorities to obtain permission before installing street lights independently, warning that illegally placed street lights will be removed.
