NC president criticizes govt plans and programs
Meanwhile, President of main opposition Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuba, has commented that the policies and programmes the government brought on Friday were baseless promises.
Talking to media persons about the government policies and programmes presented in the parliament on Friday, NC President Deuba argued, “Most of the things mentioned are past activities, so no new things at all. These are like election manifestos, lacking any vision to address people’s aspiration.” He also said the President could say ‘Nepal government’ rather than ‘my government’ in the address. The scattered issues lacked any bases for the accomplishment, according to President Deuba.
Similarly, Vice President of the party, Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar viewed that polices and programmes lacked news things and new visions. These were mere show of baseless dreams, he added. Gachchhadar also seconded leader Deuba that the President saying ‘my government’ did not suit present context but sounded royal pomp.
Chief Whip of the party Balkrishna Khand viewed that policies and programmes failed to have any provision to implement the fundamental rights guaranteed by the constitution. It also did not have any foundation to implement federalism, he added. He accused that the policies and programmes would increase inflation and price hike. All people could not feel ownership of these policies, the Chief Whip asserted.
Moreover, leader Gagan Thapa said the use of phrase ‘my government’ by the President during the presentation was a blunder that could drag her into controversy and ruin the image of President’s institution. He also belittled the policies and programmes, saying it was mere self praise. RSS
