Jhapa, April 16: The border checkpoints along the Nepal-India border in the district are to be closed in view of the Loksabha elections scheduled for April 18 in India.
According to Chief District Officer of Ilam Janak Raj Dahal, Pashupatinagar, Chhabbise, Manebhanjyang, Tumling, and Sandakpur checkpoints will be closed 48 hours before the commencement of the elections.
A meeting held at the District Administration Office also agreed to intensify security checks along the border before 48 hours of the elections aimed at stopping any activities that disturb the peaceful elections across the border. RSS
