Online bus ticketing service Bussewa.com has announced that it is ready to launch its online booking system for Dashain travel. Bijaya Swar, President of the Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs (FNNTE), mentioned that discussions with the government on ticket booking took place on Sunday but no conclusions were reached. Booking will commence based on decisions made in an upcoming meeting with the Department of Transport Management. With Dashain approaching, tickets are expected to be available within a few days.
Bussewa has confirmed that travelers can now purchase advance tickets from Kathmandu to various destinations, including Silgudi, Delhi, Pokhara, Kakadbitta, Biratnagar, Dharan, Bhojpur, and other major cities across Nepal.
PR Khanal, CEO of Bussewa, stated that the platform offers over 42,000 tickets daily for 433 destinations in more than 70 districts. “Our goal is to alleviate the need for passengers to visit bus parks or counters for tickets once booking opens,” Khanal said. “Online purchases allow customers to select their preferred bus and seat, minimizing conflicts between passengers and transport management.”
To address traffic congestion, Bussewa has also launched a passenger lounge in Kalanki, Kathmandu, which is available to customers who purchase tickets through the online platform. Currently, more than 450 transport committees and companies are affiliated with Bussewa.
