City buses in Canada promoting Visit Nepal-2020

Kathmandu, September 9: Canadian city buses have started promoting key tourism destinations and hotspots of Nepal. The campaign was initiated under the leadership of honorary representative of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) in Canada, Nar Bahadur Tondon in collaboration with different organizations working in Nepal and Canada.

At least 10 city buses being operated at Mississauga are showcasing the images of Nepal’s important tourism destinations, including world highest peak Mount Everest, Pashupatinath Temple, Lumbini, Pokhara, Nepal’s living goddess Kumari, Khaptad area, Badimalika and Api Saipal mountain, shared Bimala Sapkota, a campaign supporter Nepali resident in Canada. Tondon shared Nepali destinations will go for wider publicity through city buses in Mississauga, Toronto, and Brampton for two months.

The campaign was inaugurated at River Road Park in Mississauga, Canada by gathering the buses carrying pictures and posters reflecting Nepal’s tourism areas. Deepak Anand, a parliamentarian from Mississauga constituency inaugurated the program amidst the auspicious presence of Pancha Kanya (five virgin girls).

He said the publicity of major tourism destinations would contribute to Nepal Visit Year-2020. He also called on Canadian tourists to visit Nepal on the occasion of the Visit Year-2020. The tourism promotion campaign was kicked off in Canada in collaboration with Canada-Nepal Tourism Culture and Trade Forum, TPN Nepal, Going Nepal and Avenues Khabar Sudurpaschim State Bureau Office in coordination with Nepal Tourism Board. Non-Resident Nepali in Canada is also mustering support to the campaign. Canadian Nepali Nar Bahadur Tondon had personally financed over Rs 1.6 million to initiate the campaign. RSS
