The Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) Women Leadership Forum will host the ‘Women’s Leadership Summit 23′ from March 25 and 26.

At a press meet organised on Monday, CNI informed that it has completed the preparation for WLS23, the two-day international summit, to be held in Kathmandu.

The two-day international summit will focus on enabling and propagating women’s leadership in diverse areas on local, national, regional and international levels. The summit also aims to understand and address the impacts of Covid 19 particularly on women.

CNI Vice President Nirvana Chaudhary shared that the international summit will discuss the impact of Covid 19 pandemic on women and will discuss issues and solutions. He said the summit will discuss issues of gender equality, provide an opportunity to exchange ideas among women leaders, develop common strategies, share the success of women, encourage women and learn from each other.

Chhaya Sharma, Chairperson of the Women’s Leadership Forum at CNI, said discussions will be held on the core themes of Women in Leadership, Women and Economics, and Women as Agents of Social Change in separate sessions. In different sessions of WLS23, there will be the participation of established, transformative and influential personalities in political, economic, social, environmental and other fields in various countries including Nepal, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Germany, she informed.

At the summit, two women who have made high contributions to the social and information technology sectors will be honoured. In addition, for the promotion of entrepreneurship, domestic products manufactured by women entrepreneurs will be put on exhibition.

The conclusion of WLS23  along with recommendations and suggestions will be submitted to the Government of Nepal, CNI shared at the press meet.
