Commercial banks have reported a net profit of Rs 9.17 billion in the first month of the current fiscal year (FY 2024/25), covering the period from mid-July to mid-August.
Global IME Bank led the way with the highest net profit of Rs 892.4 million by mid-August, followed by Nabil Bank with Rs 803.3 million. Agriculture Development Bank secured the third position with a net profit of Rs 712 million.
Himalayan Bank ranked fourth with a profit of Rs 588 million, while Nepal Investment Mega Bank took fifth place with Rs 577.5 million.
Prabhu Bank reported a net profit of Rs 538 million, followed by Prime Commercial Bank at Rs 505.5 million, Kumari Bank with Rs 503.5 million, and Laxmi Sunrise Bank at Rs 430.3 million.
NMB Bank earned Rs 427.2 million, Everest Bank Limited Rs 422.9 million, Sanima Bank Rs 382.6 million, and Rastriya Banijya Bank Rs 360.6 million. Siddhartha Bank reported a net profit of Rs 348.8 million, while Citizens Bank International earned Rs 342.2 million. Nepal SBI Bank followed with Rs 333.3 million, Standard Chartered Bank with Rs 311.5 million, NIC Asia Bank with Rs 266.3 million, and Nepal Bank Limited with Rs 223.9 million.
Machhapuchhre Bank recorded the lowest profit among commercial banks, earning Rs 202.4 million.
