The government’s expenditure for the first two months of the fiscal year 2024/25 stands at 7.39%. As of September 16, total spending amounted to Rs 137.5 billion, according to the Office of the Auditor General.
The current fiscal budget is set at Rs 1,860.3 billion. Within this, capital expenditures reached Rs 82.98 billion, which is 7.28% of the total capital allocation of Rs 1,140.6 billion. Specifically, only Rs 14.89 billion, or 4.23%, has been spent out of the allocated Rs 352.35 billion for capital projects. In terms of financial management, expenditures totaled Rs 39.67 billion, or 10.8% of the Rs 367.28 billion allocated.
On the revenue side, collections during this period have reached 11.52% of the annual target of Rs 1,471.62 billion, totaling Rs 169.51 billion by September 16. Of this, tax revenue accounts for Rs 145 billion, which is 11.31% of the annual tax target of Rs 1,284.20 billion. Non-tax revenue has reached Rs 21.19 billion, making up 15.69% of its target of Rs 135.09 billion.
Additionally, the government aims to secure Rs 52.32 billion in foreign grants for the current fiscal year, but no collections have been reported to date.
