Kathmandu, May 11: A Data Centre constructed at Hetauda with an objective of protecting important information and business documents of government and private sector would come into operation soon. The data centre has been constructed at a cost of Rs 370 million with the support of the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
The Data centre constructed in Hetauda is the back up of the central data centre of Singha Durbar. Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Gokul Prasad Banskota, is scheduled to inaugurate the data centre. Executive Director of the National Information Technology Centre, Sunil Poudel, said that the centre would come into operation soon as the centre was completely ready to keep data as ‘back up’.
The KOICA handed over the building to the government after constructing it through Korean technology. The centre was constructed to save the important documents from any-type of natural disaster and human error. E-service including national identity card, machine readable passport, and electronic signature would be provided in the centre. RSS
