Kathmandu, September 30 : Hand sanitizer made by the Department of Drugs Administration (DDA) of the government has been in high demand in the market.
Acting Director General of the Department, Bijaya Shree Ratna Bajracharya, shared that the daily transaction of such sanitizer is around Rs 3,00,000. According to him, the department has been producing it since March considering their growing need in the market due to the COVID pandemic.
“A large number of customers are being attracted towards our sanitizer products after such products manufactured by other Nepali and Indian companies have been found to be containing poisonous chemicals”, he said. It may be noted that the Department recently banned eight different sanitizers mixed with a harmful chemical- methanol-for the sake of public health.
The current manufacturing capacity of the DDA is around 20,000 litres of sanitizer products” According to it, the market prices of 60 ml, 100 ml, 200 ml and 500 ml of such products stand at Rs 78, Rs 125, Rs 250 and Rs 450 respectively.
