Kathmandu, March 8 : The government has urged all Nepali consumers not to rush to deposit the daily essential fearing their possible shortage due to the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19). “There is no any shortage of food stuffs in the present and the same will not take place in the future either,” the Ministry of Home Affairs said in its press statement.
Cautioning that the black marketing could rear it ugly head if edible goods were disproportionally deposited by the consumers, the Ministry urged all and sundry to report to the government if any wrongdoings were found taking place in the market.
The Home Ministry has said though there might be possible outbreak of coronavirus (Covid-19) in Nepal the government has adopted tough safety measures to get people saved from the pandemic. The government further urges all not to go in crowded places until and unless there was urgency.
Meanwhile, the Salt Trading Corporation has clarified that there is no shortage of salt in the Nepali market. It states that the current salt reserve is adequate to meet the needs of people in the country for the upcoming 10 months.
